It’s National FFA Week, and as we prepare for the launch of the North Little Rock 6 Academy of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences in the fall, we will take a look at some potential careers in agriculture. Career #7: Soil Scientist A soil scientist studies land and water resources to better understand soil that will be used for agriculture, forestry, and urban development. A soil scientist is the go-to person for all things related to preserving soil for growing communities, potential water shortages, food supply and demand, and erosion.

A recent USDA report indicates that 22.1 million full- and part-time jobs were related to agricultural and food sectors. It’s National FFA Week, and as we prepare for the launch of the North Little Rock 6 Academy of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences in the fall, we will take a look at some potential careers in agriculture. Career #6: Animal Scientist An animal scientist studies animal biology, behavior, and management to improve livestock and wildlife care. They do this by analyzing factors like nutrition, genetics, health, and reproduction. These scientists work closely with farmers and ranchers to enhance animals’ health and well-being.
