Mika Bishop and Jerrick House

Mika BishopMika Bishop and Jerrick House will both serve as assistant principals at North Little Rock High School in the 2025-2026 school year. Both began in these roles in the middle of the 2024-2025 school year.

Bishop most recently came from the North Little Rock Middle School – Seventh & Eighth Grade Campus, where she served as the dean of students. She also served as the lead administrator for the Summer Learning Loss Program at the middle school. Her career as an educator began by teaching family and consumer sciences at White Hall High and Conway High schools. She earned the Principal Licensure from Arkansas State University and a Master of Science in Education from Arkansas State University. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher Education from the University of Central Arkansas. “For me, I believe the greatest reward will come from observing progress in our students and teachers, alongside my own personal development in this leadership position,” Bishop said. “I'm particularly looking forward to celebrating student graduations and playing a more direct role in their achievements as they cross the stage.”

House serves as assistant principal in the Freshman Academy. Previously, he served aJerrick Houses the counselor in the Freshman Academy and at Indian Hills Elementary School. An alumnus of the district, House’s journey with the NLRSD began in 2018, when he served as a paraprofessional and then the parent engagement professional at the North Little Rock Center of Excellence. House earned the following degrees: Educational Specialist in Principalship from Henderson State University, Master of Science in School Counseling from John Brown University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Sport Psychology from the University of Central Arkansas.

House said the following: “As the school counselor, I was an advocate for the students and a place of support for them academically, socially, and emotionally. While I have a different role, my goal is still the same: serving as students’ biggest advocate and supporter.”
