Boys Soccer team tryouts will be held on 9/26 from 4p to 6p at the NLRHS football stadium. You must have a current sports physical and signed consent forms on file in the Athletic Office. No transportation home will be provided.

For regular season games, the cost for all VARSITY games is $5/person for fans 5 years old and up.
The cost for 7th-9th grade games is $4/person for fans 5 years old and up.


In light of the violent threat made against schools in Arkansas, the North Little Rock School District is taking extra steps to ensure that each of the campuses remains a safe and healthy environment for everyone. We maintain communication with law enforcement, who will have a presence at every campus on Thursday, August 29. The safety of our students and staff is top priority in the North Little Rock School District.


Please be mindful of adjusted start and end times for elementary and high schools, beginning next Tuesday (9/3).
Elementary: 7:50 a.m.-2:40 p.m.
High: 8:25 a.m.-3:40 p.m.
Middle school times will remain the same: 8:00 a.m.-3:15 p.m.


Congratulations to the NLRHS Boys' Golf Team! They won the Wampus Cat Invitational at the Conway Country Club over the weekend. The team consists of Clayton Jolly, Liam Hogan, Tyler Parr, Scotty Jolly, Seth Swain, and Jake Phillips (not pictured). Brad Kilbury is their coach.


The Charging Wildcat Band and parents met this evening at the high school. We’re looking forward to hearing great music from our talented students!




Morgan Ison, a senior at North Little Rock High School, designed the front cover of the 2019-20 Parent-Student Handbook. Micheal Stone, Executive Director of Student and Equity Services, presented Ison with a copy of the handbook bearing her artwork.

After assessing transportation issues during the first week of school, the district has adjusted school start and end times. The new times will take effect on 9/3.
Elementary: 7:50 a.m.-2:40 p.m.
Middle: 8:00 a.m.-3:15 p.m.
High: 8:25 a.m.-3:40 p.m.

Bobbie Riggins, the district’s social worker and homeless liaison, received the Superintendent’s Honor Roll award. Riggins planned a successful, well-attended Student and Parent Information Fair in July. She brought together the district, along with state and local agencies so that they can showcase the services they offer.
Riggins is pictured with ESL Coordinator Maria Touchstone, Zone 3 Board Member Rochelle Redus, and Superintendent Bobby Acklin. Touchstone nominated Riggins for this honor.


Kristie Ratliff, the district’s Executive Director of Federal Programs and Professional Development, received the Superintendent’s Honor Roll award. She organized more than 200 professional development sessions over the summer. These sessions covered everything from RISE training to the Wilson Reading System. Ratliff is in her 27th year in education. Her entire professional career has been with NLRSD.

Larena Baker and Carl Johnston, custodians at Seventh Street Elem., received the Superintendent’s Honor Roll award for their efforts in preparing the building for the new school year in the absence of the lead custodian.
They are joined by Seventh Street Principal Brandy Howell and Board President Tracy Steele.


We’re so proud of senior Kate Pryor, a member of the NLRHS Trap Team, who is represented our district and community on the world stage! This summer, she went to the world championship and turned heads. In a singles events - out of 500 possible targets she hammered out a score of 491!

The NLR Board of Education recognized the NLRHS Chess Team, as they are the two-time champs! They have received their rings. Eight members of the team will be back this year. So will there be a three peat? No pressure! Congratulations!
