Instead of naming a “Player of the Week,” the coaching staff and seniors chose to give the game ball to Coach Jonathan Calvin and to dedicate last Friday’s game to him. Coach Calvin’s father passed away on Friday, and he was unable to attend the game. Our thoughts and prayers are with Coach Calvin and his family. Our Charging Wildcats defeated the Cabot Panthers, 37-36. This electrifying game marked the end of the regular season. Next up is playoffs! The team has a bye week and will be gearing up for a matchup against the winner of the Springdale Har-Ber versus Little Rock Central game. Let’s go, Charging Wildcats!

The NLRHS EAST Initiative students have been working to re-establish the NLRHS Memorial Wall to remember and honor students who passed away while in high school. The previous memorial wall became inaccessible with the construction of the new high school. With the help of a school board grant, the students have been able to replace some of the memorial plaques; however, there are still some former students whose names are not on the wall. If you would like to help with this initiative, contact Stanley Whisnant, EAST Facilitator, at whisnants@nlrsd.org.
