Kristen Valley, the Parent Engagement Professional at Boone Park, was recognized at tonight's school board meeting. Valley has been named the 2019 PBS Kids Early Learning Champion for the state.

The 2019 North Little Rock football team and coaches were recognized at tonight's school board meeting. This team made it to the state championship game. In fact, they have made four consecutive state championship game appearances, winning the game in 2017.
Emily Taylor and her Leadership & Service Learning students at NLRHS received the Superintendent's Honor Roll honor. Taylor and her students re-established a school-wide food drive. All donations were sent to the Levy Food Pantry.

Kudos to these Seventh Street fifth graders! These Quest students have made it to finals in Arkansas Capital Corporation's Youth Entrepreneur Showcase. Their project placed in the top 10 in the "Most Innovative" category. Nearly 200 teams from across the state competed.
The finals will be held in February.
The students are Jillian Wirth, Mornea Curruth, Jourdan Allen, Taylor Reeves, and Archway Stewart. Their teacher is Melinda Bissett.

Congratulations to NLR Head Football Coach Jamie Mitchell and Running Back Brandon Thomas! Coach Mitchell was named 7A Finalist for Coach of the Year, and Thomas was named 7A Offensive Player of the Year at the Arkansas Farm Bureau Awards ceremony.

This afternoon, Zone 1 Board Member Dorothy Williams took an oath to officially begin her term as President of the North Little Rock Board of Education.
Please help NLRHS Army JROTC celebrate the promotion to Cadet Private First Class (PFC) for Cadet Jacob Hale. Cadet PFC Hale is the first freshman to be promoted to Cadet Private First Class this year.

Zone 4 on the North Little Rock Board of Education, which represents Amboy Elem., is vacant. Aspiring board members should submit a letter of intent and résumé by 12/10. Board members will select a replacement at 12/16 Special Board Meeting after hearing from all candidates.

UALR Application Day! Forty-one students applied to UALR this morning! Many received immediate acceptance and several were awarded merit-based scholarships. UALR graciously waived the application fee and gave advice to students for additional scholarship opportunities. #goUALR

Congratulations NLR Army JROTC Cadet Major Luke Bjork, who joined the U.S. Army over the summer. After graduation, Cadet Bjork will go to Fort Benning, GA for 17 weeks of training. He will be going to A.I.T for 19D, Calvary Scout training.
