October is National Principals Month!
Thank you, Dr. Coleman, for serving the students, staff, and families of Indian Hills Elementary School!


This month's Great Rising Mentoring Award goes to Pastor Roy Thompson and James Holland. Thompson and Holland of Friendship Baptist Church in Sherwood answered the clarion call to volunteer in our schools and mentor students. They've begun serving at North Little Rock Academy.


This month's Parent North S.T.A.R recipient is Maria Hernandez. Hernandez has a fifth grade student at Ridge Road. She has provided translation support to families during registration and other events. She goes above and beyond to make Spanish-speaking families feel welcomed.


JJ Gladden and Bo Davidson from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission have each received a Superintendent's Citation for their roles in assisting staff with outdoor education experiences for our students. This partnership has brought classroom lessons to life.


Cindy Russenberger, a special education teacher for the Virtual Academy, received the Superintendent's Honor Roll award. Recommended by her colleagues, Russenberger is regarded as an exemplary educator who has taken on additional roles and performs at the highest level.


For tonight's student presentation, students from the Sixth Grade Campus read literary works they authored and presented at the school's Literacy Night that took place last week. The students are Alexandrei Alcones, Kylee Blair, Ashleigh Orange, Lucy Tellez, and Natalia Warren.








Lucy Tellez, a sixth grade student, led the Pledge of Allegiance and the Moment of Silence at tonight's Regular Board Meeting.

Check out that wingspan! This is the voice of NLR athletics, Mr. Gary Stephens. He has been a fixture in the athletic department for more than 50 years. A 1965 graduate of NLRHS, he went on to play for the Hogs. #TBT #NLR

Congratulations to J'Lynn Allen on being named Pulaski County Farm Bureau Player of the Week!
Allen had 9 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 QB pressure, and a QB sack in last week's game.
Friday is Senior Night. We will be recognizing all seniors who participated in fall sports. We will host the Northside Grizzlies.
Way to go, J'Lynn, and let's go Charging Wildcats!

Reminder: NO early dismissal tomorrow, October 18, since there will be NO classes on Thursday and Friday. However, Parent-Teacher Conferences will be Thursday from noon to 6:00 p.m.
Early dismissal on Wednesdays only occurs when classes are in session a full week.


The NLRSD will hold a community forum tonight at 6:00 p.m. at Lakewood Elementary School to share capital improvement plans, which include the construction of a new middle school and renovations to Ole Main. Please come and hear about the plans and to make suggestions.

On this Throwback Thursday, we offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends of former North Little Rock Mayor Patrick Henry Hays. Hays graduated from NLRHS in 1965. He served six terms as mayor and is the longest serving mayor in the city's history. #TBT #NLR
