In honor of and to show thanks to all who have served or are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces, a Veterans Day car parade will be held at Indian Hills Elementary. We would like each student to extend an invitation to their special Veteran to our parade. We ask our Veterans to meet at 8:40 am in the back parking lot of the First United Methodist Church. We encourage our Veterans to stay inside their cars until the parade begins. The parade will commence at 9:00am. Veterans will leave the back parking lot to parade down Wigwam with the students cheering them on in front of Indian Hills Elementary.

This distinction will indicate that we have implemented best practices and procedures to improve student achievement. A part of this distinction requires our collecting data through research from our stakeholders. We need our families to take this survey to identify areas of strength and areas of need from your perspective.

October is National Principals Month! We salute you, Dr. Coleman, the principal at Indian Hills Elementary School.
Thank you for your leadership! We appreciate your service to the students, staff, and community!

IHE Parents,
Please take a few minutes to complete this survey. It is very difficult for IHE to adjust and improve if we don't know how you feel about our school. This survey closes on October 23, 2020. We would greatly appreciate your honest feedback.

Good Evening IHE Parents,
NLRSD will begin Virtual/Flex Fridays for students beginning October 23, 2020. Your child’s teacher will be sending you a weekly survey asking if your child will be in attendance Friday. Please make every effort to complete this survey each week. We need to make sure that we have adequate numbers to prepare breakfast and lunch for students. We also need to know who we will need to send breakfast/lunch as well as review packets home with on Thursdays.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the building administrators, Dr. Shanda Coleman, colemans@nlrsd.org, and Mr. Joseph Brown, brownjo@nlrsd.org.
We have attached links to our IHE Virtual Friday schedule and building plan. Our IHE staff has worked very hard to create a plan that will benefit our students and provide time for staff to plan lessons, conference with parents, record lessons, work 1:1 with select students, etc.

Students and staff across the district are wearing red today to bring awareness to dyslexia. October is Dyslexia Awareness Month!

Ms. Stadther: My name is Emily Stadther. I have been at Indian Hills for 4 years, and I love getting to read with all my students. They work hard each and every day!
Mrs. Pool: Teaching children to read and write has been a passion in my life! I’m Harriett Pool, this school year marks my thirty seventh year of teaching. Daily, I have the privilege of helping students who struggle with Characteristics of Dyslexia. My goal is to teach children to be life-long readers, so they can be life-long learners.
If a child can read, they can succeed!
