How Does the Traffic Line Work? (Student Pick-Up & Drop-Off) As many of our veteran Indian Hills parents know, drop-off and pick-up can sometimes feel overwhelming. We continue to work closely with the city, district, police, parents, and community partners to ensure a process that is both safe and efficient. The safety of every child, parent, and staff member remains our top priority. Please review the expectations below: 🚦 Traffic Flow & Safety Expectations • Enter and exit through Osage Drive and Wigwam only. • Right turns only when entering or exiting the school drive during drop-off and pick-up. • Do not turn onto Wigwam from Indian Hills Blvd. • Avoid using electronics (radio adjustments, cell phones, texting) while in the car line. • Do not drive between the two car line lanes at any time. 🌅 Morning Drop-Off • All students, in every grade, must enter through the cafeteria doors. • Doors open at 7:15 AM. • No drop-offs are allowed in the back parking lot. 🛡️ Parent Volunteers Needed To help keep our scholars safe during busy traffic times, we are seeking parent volunteers to assist with morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. If you are willing to help, please contact our assistant principal, Mr. Joseph Brown, at brownjo@nlrsd.org. Your support makes a tremendous difference! 🔁 Final Reminder When exiting the school parking lot during both drop-off and dismissal, it is right turn only.

Hello, amazing Indian Hills Elementary families!

On Friday, November 7, we introduced a new program called "Perfectly Punctual" to our students. This program is an effort to combat the growing number of tardies at IHE.

We understand that busy mornings are challenging, but arriving on time ensures your child starts the day ready to learn and doesn't miss key instruction. Our current school letter grade is a C, and our collective goal is an A. To achieve this leap in academic performance, we must have our scholars in their seats, on time, prepared to learn and grow. Missed instructional time is the single greatest obstacle to hitting that target. Currently, we face a serious tardiness issue. In just 60 days, we've recorded 2,145 tardies. Alarmingly, 25% of our student body is chronically tardy. We must improve this together!

Please follow this schedule to ensure a strong start:

7:15 AM: School doors open.

7:35 AM: Breakfast service ends. Late arrivals will receive a Grab-and-Go Breakfast and go straight to class to protect learning time.

7:40 AM: Learning begins promptly!

Every minute after 7:40 AM is missed instruction. Your partnership in ensuring strong attendance and punctuality is essential as we finish the semester strong. Thank you for helping us achieve our 'A' goal!

The NLRSD Registration Fair is coming up! If you need assistance registering your child for school, we have you covered! Translators will also be there for families. The Registration Fair is on Monday, July 14, from 11 AM to 6PM at NLR High School. We hope to see you there!

If your student has medication at school, please pick it by Friday, May 30, which is the last day of school. All medication that is not picked up by Friday will be destroyed or discarded, per district guidelines. If your student will be attending summer school, please speak with your child's building nurse to make arrangements.

As you know, the North Little Rock School District closed schools and district offices early on Wednesday, April 2 because of inclement weather.  To avoid extending the school year, the district will add five minutes to the end of the school day beginning Monday, April 14. Please note the updated school hours. At this time, the last day of school is scheduled for Friday, May 30. However, please keep in mind that inclement weather is unpredictable. If additional schedule changes become necessary, the school year may extend beyond this date. Thank you for your understanding!

While we have experienced inclement weather over the past several days, there has been little to no impact on our schools and Central Office sites. Therefore, all campuses and district sites will be open tomorrow at normal times. We understand that travel conditions may still be challenging for some, and we encourage everyone to prioritize safety in their commutes. To avoid extending the school year, the North Little Rock School District has elected to implement the following two changes, beginning Monday, March 3, 2025: --Suspend early dismissals on Wednesdays for the remainder of the school year --Add ten (10) minutes to the school day for the remainder of the school year The last day of school will be Friday, May 30, 2025.

All NLRSD campuses and offices will reopen on Monday, February 24, at their regular times. For our high school students, tomorrow will be an A Day. See you tomorrow!
