7th Street students and staff started the day celebrating great behavior by the entire school. 2nd grade teacher, Pam Springer, took one for the team by kissing a pig!! Way to go students! Keep it up students. We can’t wait to see what’s next!!!

Congrats to Dawn McLain, NLRMS 6th grade teacher who was named the Milken Educator Award. “Great teachers like Dawn McLain prove every day that education is the best investment America can make”, said Co-Founder Mike Mullen. Ms. McLain was honored with a $25,000 check and represents all educators across the world as this year’s winner. Congrats!!!

Due to icy side roads, the NLRSD is closed Wednesday, January 17 for all students and employees not on a 12 month contract. Twelve month employees should report at 9:00 a.m.

Ridge Road celebrated their athletic teams tonight. Members of the Elementary League Football and Volleyball teams were recognized and the basketball team showed their skills in advance of the league play starting Saturday. Special thanks to John Drake, Edward Jones Investments, for being a great Business Partner and purchasing the wolf costume for their mascot.

Students at Boone Park have tennis shoes to participate in PE Class and sports due to the generous donations received from the community. A special thanks to NLR Athletic Club and Bluebird Sports Complex who donated several pairs. There will be NO students unable to participate because they don’t have tennis shoes!
