This is a follow up to earlier communication about our plans during severe weather.
At this time, we will continue with normal dismissal procedures for our Pre-K and elementary students and staff only. We will continue to monitor the weather and will provide additional communication as it relates to dismissal plans for middle and high school students and staff.
If a parent wishes to pick up their child, it must be done before a tornado warning is in place. Once students and staff are in shelter, we cannot release them for safety reasons until the warning expires.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority.

Get ready for the first-ever NLRSD "Literacy Leads to Champions" parade, set for April 24, beginning at 2:00 p.m. This parade will highlight our district's commitment to literacy through our schools, students, and student-athletes.
Be on the lookout for more communication!

Stay safe and warm!

The North Little Rock School District has been made aware of Governor Asa Hutchinson’s mandate to end contact tracing. However, Governor Hutchinson has given school districts the ability to make health decisions in the best interest of students and staff.
Over the coming days, administrators and nurses in the district will review data and will make recommendations. These recommendations will be presented to the North Little Rock Board of Education in the form of a resolution.
For now, we will continue our current procedures regarding contact tracing and quarantines.
The health and safety of our students and staff is our top priority.

The NLRSD will shift to remote learning for Thursday, February 3, 2022. No on-site instruction, after-school activities, or athletic events will occur as all campuses and Central Office sites will be closed.

Due to a staffing shortage this afternoon in the Transportation Department, there could be delays in buses arriving at our campuses and, therefore, dropping off students at their respective destinations.
Thank you for your patience!

Due to the recent sharp decline in cases and quarantines, all students will return to campus for on-site instruction tomorrow, January 19, 2022. As has become our standard, we will continue to monitor our COVID-19 data and will make decisions on a campus-by-campus basis should we notice trends that disrupt the teaching and learning process in our schools. Elementary instruction begins at 7:50 a.m.
Please know that we will continue to enforce mask-wearing, frequent hand washing, and social distancing when it is possible. Most importantly, we strongly encourage our students, staff, and community who are eligible to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
