We are planning a warm welcome to celebrate your child’s first day of school on Thursday, August 27 @ 9:00 am.
Due to safety guidelines, parents may only walk students to the designated location for kindergarten drop off (the gym parking lot). Our staff will be on hand to guide your child to his or her classroom.

Natural State Laboratories and Park Hill Baptist Church have partnered and are opening a site to provide COVID-19 testing. It will be open Monday-Friday from 3:30 until 6:30 in the parking lot for NLRSD students and staff. The results are usually back within 24 hours.

We had a successful first day of school! Thank you so much for your patience as we work through the growing pains of teaching virtual and implementing blended learning in the classroom. If your student is attending our virtual academy, please make sure he or she is logging in daily for the scheduled "LIVE" instruction. If you are having difficulties logging in, we have uploaded step by step directions on our Facebook page, Class Dojo, and our school website. Attendance will be taken several times during the day. Great news for parents and students! We are pleased to inform you that the entire North Little Rock School District will begin participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) starting the 2020-2021 school year. All enrolled students in the North Little Rock School District are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at no charge to your household. Your child(ren) will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a meal application. IHE School Supply Drop Off!
We will begin collecting school supplies for ALL face to face students from 9 am -3 pm Thursday, August 20th, and Friday, August 21st. Please clearly label your child's name and grade level on the outside of the bags you are dropping off. Supplies should be placed in the grocery carts that will be located in the front of the school building under the cafeteria entrance awning.
Please consider taking advantage of this opportunity to drop off school supplies before the first day of school as parents will not be able to walk their children to their classrooms on August 24.

KINDERGARTEN SCREENING
Dear IHE Parent/Guardian,
Welcome to Kindergarten Screening! The process you are about to begin will help us learn about your child. We have members of our Kindergarten staff in place to assist you in this screening.
Here is a brief summary of what to expect:
1)CHECK-IN:
Please come to the doors near the gym five minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. A staff member will greet you and your student here.
2)SCREENING:
After you check-in at the gym doors, a teacher will greet your child and proceed to a classroom to do a developmental screening with them. If your child will not separate easily from you, please reassure him/her that this “teacher” is safe to go with and that you will wait for them outside.

If you have signed your student up for Virtual Academy and need a device, tomorrow, August 20, 2020 is the final day. Staff will be available to assist you tomorrow 8:00 to 11:00 and 1:00 to 3:00. After tomorrow, you will need to call the school to make an appointment to check out a device.
