Congratulations to the NLRHS Chess Team! They won First Place in the Arkansas Scholastic State Chess Championship that was held in Little Rock on Saturday!

The Forensics and Debate Team hosted and competed in the Arkansas Forensics and Debate Tournament this past weekend and here are the highlights.
Lucas Bachus placed 6th in the state in Humorous Interpretation
Dawson Teague placed 5th in the state in Original Oratory
Maria Posadas placed 6th in the state in Storytelling
Emily Horn and Nyle Watson placed 6th in the state in Duet Improv
Taylor Stewart is the 1st place winner and State Champion in Poetry
The Forensics Team placed 2nd in the state in Reader's Theatre and Word and Musics.
The Debate Team highlights include:
Freshman - Sam Montgomery advanced to the semi-finals of Novice Lincoln-Douglas Debate
Senior - Josh Hale advanced to the semi-finals of Varsity Lincoln-Douglas Debate and received the 1st place speaker award for Varsity LD.
Senior Lilly Green and Junior Cole Kimrey placed 2nd in the state in Novice Public Forum Debate and Lilly received 4th place speaker award for Novice PF.
