To KNOW Tuesday:
• Students should miss no more than 9 days of school each year to stay engaged, successful and on track to graduation.
• Frequent absences can be a sign that a student is losing interest in school, struggling with school work, dealing with a
bully or facing some other difficulty.
• By 6th grade, absenteeism is one of three signs that a student may drop out of high school.
• By 9th grade, attendance is a better predictor of graduation rates than 8th grade test scores.
• Missing 10%, or 2 days a month, over the course of the school year, can affect a student’s academic success.

Dear parents or guardians,
The 2nd- nine weeks has flown by. Students are learning in new and different ways, and teachers are working tirelessly to meet student needs. The 2nd-nine weeks Interim Reports were passed out today during your child's 7th-period class.
As you review your child’s Interim report, please know that these grades are not final. We want to ensure that their grade correctly reflects their understanding, of the material. As always, please reach out to your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns about their assignments or accessing their technology.

Interim grades are due today and students should receive a paper copy of their interim grades on Friday, December 2nd. and no later than Monday, December 5th, 2022

Hunger is an issue that many of our NLRMS students and families face. This year NLRMS 7-8 campus is focusing on bringing some "Joy" to members of our school community. These Joy Boxes will provide some hunger relief while school is out for Winter Break. Anything that is non-perishable will help!
If you would like more information or ways you can help then please contact Mrs. Amberg at ambergb@nlrsd.org
Be on the lookout for more information on how you can sign up for a Family" Joy" Box.

Help us to create a culture of reading! The Curriculum Innovation and Design Department has organized a Book Donation Drive. Please drop off new or gently-used books outside the main entrances of any of our schools.
Please contact Dr. Sharesa White for any questions.
