
Arkansas Commitment is a 501c3 organization that assists high achieving African-American students reach their goal of going to college.
As part of Arkansas Commitment’s desire to expose every students of Central Arkansas to top-tier colleges, I’d like to extend an invitation for your students to attend our 11th annual College Symposium (flyer attached). This year’s event will be held in the Performance Arts Center of North Little Rock High School on Sunday, September 22, 2019 from 2:00-5:00 pm.
This year, we will welcome Admissions Representatives from 16 colleges and universities. These institutions include: Bates College, Carleton College, Colorado College, Davidson College, Grinnell College, Hendrix College, Northwestern University, Pitzer College, Sewanee: The University of the South, Tulane University, University of Richmond, Vanderbilt University, Washington & Lee University, Washington University in St. Louis, Wesleyan University, and Williams College.
While this event is free and open to the public, we are asking that all guests donate canned goods to go towards supplying a food pantry for the North Little Rock School District.

There will be a spirit bus to Shreveport for Friday's game against Catholic (Baton Rouge). The bus will cost $50.00 to ride, and this includes your game ticket. All riders must be an adult or must be accompanied by an adult. All riders are responsible for their own meals.
The bus will leave at 2:00 p.m. Friday from the visitor's bus parking area of NLRHS Stadium. It will return after the game this Friday night.
Those interested can purchase their tickets at the Athletic Office by the end of the day Thursday.
Anyone that would like to pre-purchase tickets to the game can do so in the Athletic Office until the close of business on Thursday. Tickets here are $10.00, and tickets in Shreveport are $15.00.

Around noon, a fire alarm sounded at NLRHS. Students and staff immediately evacuated the building. Emergency officials responded and found it to be a false alarm. After receiving the all clear, students and staff re-entered the building. Classes have resumed.

In light of the violent threat made against schools in Arkansas, the North Little Rock School District is taking extra steps to ensure that each campus remains a safe and healthy environment for everyone. We maintain communication with law enforcement, who will have a presence at every campus on Thursday, August 29. The safety of our students and staff is top priority in the North Little Rock School District.


Please be mindful of adjusted start and end times for elementary and high schools, beginning next Tuesday (9/3).
Elementary: 7:50 a.m.-2:40 p.m.
High: 8:25 a.m.-3:40 p.m.
Middle school times will remain the same: 8:00 a.m.-3:15 p.m.
