Hurricane Laura is expected to bring inclement weather to Arkansas. As a result, the North Little Rock School District will end classes early on Thursday. Elementary: 1:00 p.m. Middle: 1:50 p.m. High: 2:30 p.m. All after school events scheduled for tomorrow have been postponed. Central Office will close at 3:00 p.m. We will communicate on tomorrow about our plans to hold classes on Friday. As it relates to early dismissal tomorrow, students enrolled in the Virtual Academy will adhere to the class times given by their teachers. Thank you for being a part of our district!

Students will receive a meal box containing a week's worth of breakfast and lunch. Staff will place food in trunk. Proof of enrollment is required. The NLR Baseball Team will hold tryouts on 8/31 and 9/1 at 6 p.m. Participants must have a current physical and parent consent form to try out. Participants must also wear a mask and bring their own baseball equipment and a water bottle. The first week back to school will look a little different this year. Freshmen will come to school Monday, August 24 while sophomores, juniors, and seniors are completing assignments at home. Sophomores will come to school Tuesday, August 25 while freshmen, juniors, and seniors are completing assignments from home. Juniors and seniors will come to school Wednesday, August 26 while freshmen and sophomores are completing assignments from home. Everyone will be back on campus, following our regular schedule, on Thursday, August 27. Details on what students will be working on from home will be uploaded to https://www.nlrsd.org/o/high-school and emailed to parents and students by Friday, August 14 at 5:00 PM. Assignment packets will be available for students who do not have devices or internet access at their homes. If a student wishes to attend school on a day that isn't assigned to them, they may. The NLR Board of Education voted to approve new start and end times for our schools. The times are as follows: Elementary: 7:50 a.m.-2:35 p.m. Middle: 8:10 a.m.-3:25 p.m. High: 8:40 a.m.-3:55 p.m. Pre-K times will remain the same: 7:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Schools will open to students who ride buses first. The following are drop off times for students who drive, walk, or are dropped off. Elementary: 7:20 a.m. Middle: 7:40 a.m. High: 7:55 a.m.
