The Forensics and Debate Team travel to Rogers this past weekend to compete in a tournament and here are the highlights:
Advancing to the finals in Storytelling - Mackie Davis, Milena Duarte, and Gabby Stokes and Macy Knapp placed third in Storytelling.
Advancing to the finals in Humorous Interpretation - Olivia Bird and Trey Jenkins placed 1st in Humorous Interpretation.
Advancing to the finals in Informative Speaking - Megan Drause
Advancing to the finals in Duo Interpretation - Katherine Self & Kenzie Tatum and Sierra Owens and Spencer Long placed 1st in Duo Interpretation.
Advancing to the finals in Prose and placing 2nd - Clarke Preston
Advancing to the finals in Poetry and placing 2nd - Josie Zakrzewski
Advancing to the Super Session of Congress and a Semi- finalist in IPDA Debate - Wilson Loibner
Advancing as a quarter-finalist in IPDA Debate - Jacob Vandett

Renaissance Leadership delivered gifts today for the Holiday Hopes and Winter Wishes initiative. Gifts included electric pencil sharpeners, movie passes, school supplies, and a warm hug.
UAPB Urban Outreach Program
North Little Rock High School boys basketball team will play Watson Chapel in a benefit game tonight @ 6:00 p.m. in the North Little Rock Arena. Admission is $4.00 and only AAA passes are allowed for this event. NLR passes are not allowed for this event. Please come support the boys basketball team tonight as they prepare to kickoff the 2019-2020 season.

Chase the Wildcat Bug! Be a part of something new and exciting at NLRHS/COE as the “BUG Squad” motivates, invigorates, celebrates and encourages all NLRSD students and community members to Chase the Wildcat Bug. The “Bug Squad” will engage with the community and schools to celebrate academics, school achievements and community events.
How can you participate? There will be a squad of 6 representing the 10th – 12th grade that leads the group and others who help with organizing, planning and participating in ways of academic celebration which includes 9th grade students.

Shout out to the B3 Student Council students! Great new bulletin boards!
NLRHS will participate in an ACT Online Study. This study will allow 250 juniors to take the December 14th ACT at no cost. Some students will take an online version of the exam and some will take the traditional paper version; students will not know which version until they arrive for testing and cannot choose which version. The results are valid for college admissions and scholarships.
In order to take the test, a special voucher is required.
If your would like your student to participate in this study, please direct them to complete the form titled: ACT Online Study: December 14 that was sent to their school email account.
Our very first school-wide food drive was a success! The Levy Food Pantry is very appreciative.

The NLR 9th through 12th grade girls track tryouts will be 11/9 at 11 am. Students interested in trying out must have a current physical and consent form on file with the Athletic Office or bring one the day of tryouts or they will not be allowed to participate. Tryouts for the NLRHS Boys’ Track Team scheduled for tomorrow have been postponed until further notice.
A major salute to JROTC Cadet Xavier Jenkins, who joined the U.S. Army this week! After graduation, Cadet Jenkins will begin his military career at Basic Training at Fort Jackson (SC) and then report to Fort Lee (VA) to be trained as a Small Arms/ Artillery Repair Specialist.
