The North Little Rock School District surged from an “F” to a “C” in its district letter grade. This change was driven by nine of thirteen schools demonstrating an increased improvement in their letter grades, according to 2026 accountability results released today by the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education. Letter grades are largely determined by performance on the Arkansas ATLAS exam, which measures student proficiency in English Language Arts, math, and science, year-over-year academic growth, and graduation rate.
Lakewood Elementary School earned a top-tier “A” rating, marking its first “A” rating in modern district tracking, while Glenview Elementary School surged two full letter grades within a school year. A district-wide wave of improvement saw nine campuses boost their letter grades: Amboy Elementary School, Boone Park Elementary School, Glenview Elementary School, Lakewood Elementary School, Meadow Park Elementary School, North Little Rock Center of Excellence, North Little Rock High School, the former NLRMS - Sixth Grade Campus, and Ridge Road Elementary School.

Here are additional highlights from the accountability results:
●Eleven of 13 campuses demonstrated improvement in their overall total number of points earned in the 2025-2026 school year.
●North Little Rock 6 Academy of Agricultural & Veterinary Sciences has demonstrated steady increased improvement in total points earned over the last three years to include(302.81) in 2023-2024 and (306.65) in 2024-2025 and finally (322.46) in 2025-2026.This year, they landed within single digits of the next letter grade.
●Four campuses are less than 10 points away from the next letter grade: NLR 6 Academy of Agricultural & Veterinary Sciences (5.32), Sixth Grade Campus (3.69), Seventh &Eighth Grade Campus (8.86), and North Little Rock High School (9.81).
●Glenview Elementary School improved the most points earned in one year (114.77)followed by the Sixth Grade Campus (101.09).
●Glenview Elementary School improved its school letter grade from an “F” to a “C” within one school year. This is the first time in the school’s history the school has reached this letter grade status.
●Ridge Road Elementary School elevated its letter grade to a “B.” This is the first time in the school’s history the school has reached this letter grade status. Also, Ridge Road Elementary School earned the second highest number of total points in the district.
●Crestwood Elementary School and Lakewood Elementary School have earned the distinction of being named “gem schools.” This honor goes to campuses for outstanding achievement, growth, content-area performance, or sustained improvement.
●Sixty nine percent of our schools improved by at least one letter grade, thereby improving the district’s letter grade from an “F” to a “C” in one year.
●The district is no longer required to submit state-mandated literacy targets, thanks to a steep decline in Level 1 scores, the lowest performance tier on state assessments.
