Rachel Wheeler, whose entire professional career has been in the North Little Rock School District, has been tapped as the Coordinator of Accountability, Assessment, and Data Management. In this role, Wheeler will lead the coordination of federal, state, and local assessments. She will also analyze student performance metrics and conduct data-driven research aimed at enhancing instructional practices and boosting student achievement.
Currently, Wheeler is the Network Instructional Specialist at Lakewood Elementary School. In this capacity, she collaborates closely with the Curriculum Department and classroom teachers to strengthen instructional strategies while observing educators to provide targeted, meaningful feedback that enhances student understanding and performance.
Wheeler spent the majority of her career at Indian Hills Elementary School, starting in August 2007. After years of teaching fourth and fifth grades, she transitioned into leadership roles as the school's math instructional coach and building test coordinator.
Wheeler received a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Supervision from Southern Arkansas University and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Arkansas State University.
