Heather Theodore

Heather Theodore has been promoted to serve as the Coordinator of Virtual Learning and Advanced Programs.  She will oversee the Virtual Academy and differentiated instructional methods to reach the district’s gifted students, along with Advanced Placement coordination and testing.

Prior to stepping into this district leadership role, Theodore served as the point of contact for Advanced Programs and taught the Gifted and Talented Seminar at the Seventh & Eighth Grade Campus. She also made a significant impact as the campus's EAST Facilitator, mentoring students as they partnered with local organizations, including the Old Mill Preservation Society, North Little Rock Tourism, and the Junior League of North Little Rock, to bring community-driven projects to life.

Theodore joined the district in 2018 as the Gifted and Talented Specialist at Crestwood Elementary School, where she designed rigorous, STEM-based curricula tailored to challenge and engage advanced learners.

Before her tenure in the NLRSD, Theodore also taught in the Little Rock and Pine Bluff school districts.

Theodore received two master’s degrees – one in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Arkansas Tech University and the other in Gifted and Talented Education from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock – and a bachelor’s degree in Religion from Hendrix College.
