Three veteran educators will be serving in newly-restructured roles at North Little Rock Middle School in an effort to drive significant student achievement while establishing the essential support systems required to sustain and guarantee that progress.
Mr. Michael Clark, Dr. Gabriel Jackson, and Mr. Kenneth Miller will serve as Directors of Teaching and Learning, with each overseeing an individual grade level – 6th, 7th, or 8th. Specific grade levels will be determined at a later date. These three instructional leaders will report to Ms. Kriss Marshell, the newly-appointed Executive Director of Middle School Improvement, and will provide academic support to staff that accelerates achievement for every learner.

Mr. Michael Clark is in his 10th year leading North Little Rock Middle School - Sixth Grade Campus. Before leading that campus, he was an Assistant Principal at the middle school campus, providing instructional leadership, supervising teachers and staff, and overseeing testing. Mr. Clark’s career in administration began at the former Ridgeroad Middle School. Mr. Clark spent part of his career in education in the Pulaski County Special and Little Rock school districts as a social studies teacher and coach.
Mr. Clark earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Henderson State University and Harding University, respectively.
Dr. Gabriel Jac
kson will join the NLRSD from the Pulaski County Special School District, where he currently serves as an Assistant Principal at Mills University Studies High School. Throughout his career, he has served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and director of education. His leadership spans both traditional public and charter school systems, including the Dollarway, Little Rock, and Pine Bluff school districts, as well as Arkansas Lighthouse, ARISE, and Hope Academy charter schools.
He also serves as an adjunct professor at two universities.
Dr. Jackson earned a Doctorate of Education in School Leadership from Arkansas Tech University. He also received degrees from Arkansas State University and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

y serving as Principal at Jacksonville Elementary School, Mr. Kenneth Miller has 10 years of administrative experience in education. He also led Jacksonville Middle and Lonoke High schools. His start in administration began in Jacksonville, having served as an Assistant Principal at the district’s middle and high school campuses. Mr. Miller taught social studies in the Little Rock School District.
Mr. Miller earned a Master of Science Degree in Education from Arkansas State University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the University of Central Arkansas.
These educators will begin their roles on July 1.
