Mrs. Elizabeth Wells has been appointed as Principal of the North Little Rock Center of Excellence. She currently serves as the Assistant Principal at North Little Rock Middle School - Seventh & Eighth Grade Campus.
Mrs. Wells joined the North Little Rock School District in 2022 as the Career Academy Coach. Mrs. Wells was instrumental in the formation of the partnership between Baptist Health and the two high schools, which led to the creation of the Baptist Health Academy of Health & Human Services at North Little Rock High School and the Baptist Health Academy of Health Sciences at the North Little Rock Center of Excellence. Since then, career academies have expanded throughout the district. These school-business partnerships are the cornerstone of the Academies of Central Arkansas, a model currently transforming teaching and learning in high schools across Pulaski County.
Before joining the NLRSD, Mrs. Wells served multiple school years in Conway Public Schools in the following roles: Business Teacher, FBLA Adviser, and Keyboarding/Coding Teacher. She started her career in the Pulaski County Special School District.
“I am excited to lead the Center of Excellence,” Wells said. “I look forward to working with staff and supporting students to ensure they are future ready.”
Mrs. Wells has earned three degrees from the University of Central Arkansas: an Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership, Master of Science Degree in Instructional Technology, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education with a major in Business Education. She has attained the English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) endorsement and is a National Board Certified Teacher. Mrs. Wells is a former Conway High School Teacher of the Year.
