LFP Teens is collaborating with North Little Rock High School and Center of Excellence for a Writing Contest! This exciting contest aims to unlock the creative potential of teen writers while fostering a deeper appreciation for literature and the power of storytelling. Their mission is to transform and stimulate creativity while uncovering the true essence of literature.
If you’re a teen writer with a passion for storytelling, we want to see what you can create! Whether you’re a seasoned writer or just beginning your journey, this contest is an excellent opportunity to showcase your talent and imagination.
Contest Details:
Registration Deadline: December 14, 2025
Story Submission Deadline: January 31, 2026
Word Count: 2,000 – 5,000 words
Eligibility: Open to all Central Arkansas teens. Parental consent is required to participate.
No plagiarism. All entries must be original works of fiction created solely by the contestant.
Prizes:
1st Place: $100 Gift Card + Exclusive Publishing Deal
2nd Place: $75 Gift Card
3rd Place: $50 Gift Card
Judging Criteria:
Submissions will be evaluated based on the following factors:
Originality of Content – Is your story fresh, unique, and engaging?
Imaginative Insight – How creatively do you develop characters, plot, and world-building?
Story Development – Does the story have a clear structure with a beginning, middle, and end? Are there strong conflicts and resolutions?
Writing Style – Is the writing engaging, clear, and well-crafted? Does it capture the reader’s attention?
Writing Mechanics – Proper grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting will be considered.
Judging begins February 9, 2026. Judging ends March 15, 2026. Contest results will be posted April 3, 2026.
How to Enter:
Register: Sign up for the contest by submitting your registration form by December 15, 2025.
Write: Craft your original work of fiction, making sure it’s between 2,000 and 5,000 words.
Submit: Submit your story by February 2, 2026. Be sure to follow all submission guidelines.
Contest Rules:
Originality: All entries must be the contestant’s own work. Absolutely no plagiarism.
Parental Consent: If you are under 18, you must have parental consent to participate in the contest.
Copyright: The winner must be willing to have their work published as part of the exclusive publishing deal. Details will be discussed upon selection.
