Teachers

At its Thursday, February 27 regular board meeting, the North Little Rock Board of Education approved a pay increase for all licensed staff in the district.  This was a collaborative endeavor between the administration and the Licensed Personnel Policies Committee.

Superintendent Bobby Acklin praised the board's decision and thanked the various departments that worked through the process.

Superintendent Acklin sent the following email to staff:

On Thursday night, the North Little Rock Board of Education approved a pay increase for each of our licensed staff.  I cannot find the words to express how grateful I am to the Board for their favorable vote and the collaboration among our Human Resources Department, our Business Department, and the Licensed Personnel Policies Committee.  I appreciate the teamwork that was implemented to agree on a salary.

Teachers and administrators, there is no amount of money that can truly express your value in this district.  I certainly wish we could do much more, but I hope you accept this move as a gesture of our appreciation to you and all that you do.

There was an article written about this that appeared Friday’s (February 28) edition of the Arkansas Democrat Gazette

To our classified staff, you are not forgotten.  We are working to approve a new salary schedule for you as well.  It is our goal to use the same orderly process to increase your bottom line as well.  You, too, are appreciated for your hard work and dedication to this district.  I can’t thank you enough.

It is humbling to serve as Superintendent of this district.  What makes my job enjoyable is knowing that we have dedicated and passionate people who love kids and want to work hard for them. Again, I thank you.
