These students took the ACT or SAT recently through the Duke Tip Talent Search Program. They will be recognized in May as a Duke Tip State recipient at a ceremony on the UALR Campus. In order to receive this award they had to have scored at least a 22 or higher on any one of the core subjects of Math, Reading, English, or Science that was administered on this college entrance exam. We are very proud of all of them as well as their current and former teachers. Congratulations to these students and their parents.

Congratulations to Breanna Snyder for winning the pi digit contest by being able to recite 300 digits of pi! Kourtney Smith was the winner of the pi poster contest!

Middle School Cheer clinic and tryout week will be May 1-May 5. Students must have a physical and consent form before the tryout begins.
A mandatory parent meeting will be April 17th at 6:00 in the mini auditorium at NLRMS!
Parents and Guardians you don’t want to miss this event sponsored by EAST Initiative of NLR Middle School. We will have professional speakers from the NLR Police Dept., Arkansas Attorney General’s office, as well as NLR Middle School Counselors. They will give short presentations on the following topics:
1. Drugs found in our community
2. Self Harm issues
3. Cyber bullying and Social Media issues

Performance Choir Tryouts - 7th graders (going into 8th grade)… Monday, February 27th we will have tryouts. Students interested in auditioning need to come to Mrs. Banks’ room (501) this week to pick up an audition form.
Attention NLR 8th grade students - Being in high school next year will offer many new opportunities and experiences. One of those available opportunities is in the area of vocal music.
Students interested in auditioning to be in the 9th grade FRESHMAN SELECT ENSEMBLE next year, at the high school, need to pick up a tryout form from Mrs. Banks in the choir room, at the middle school. Complete the application and turn it back into Mrs. Banks by Wednesday, March 1st. The high school choir director, Mrs. Donna Gosser, will be on the middle school campus for FRESHMAN SELECT ENSEMBLE tryouts on Monday, March 6th. Pick up your tryout form this week to be in the FRESHMAN SELECT choir next year at the high school!
