Hello 8th grade parents and guardians!
Hopefully, you are aware that your 8th grade student received information on Thursday to select their FRESHMAN courses for the 2021-2022 school year. Face-to-face students received hard copies of the form and virtual students were emailed a form link to complete. The high school course guide can be found at www.nlrsd.org/o/high-school. I encourage you and your student to explore what the high school has to offer and to review the course descriptions carefully.

Current 8th-grade students, NLRHS is asking that you make your class choices by Thursday, March 18.

Parents and guardians, please encourage your student to do their very best on the ACT Aspire! The scores will influence some class placements to help support appropriate student growth.

Information for Future 9th Grade Students
· On March 11, in-person students will be given a selection sheet to choose courses for the 2021-2022 school year and will google meet with the high school counselors during advisory. The intention of this initial meeting is to explain how to complete the form and to answer any initial questions. Virtual students will receive a video tailored to their needs and a link to the digital selection form.
· On Monday, March 15, the high school counselors will again google meet during advisory to answer questions. Also on Monday, March 15 and Tuesday, March 16, the high school will host google meets for parents at 6:00 p.m. to ask questions and hear about various programs.
· Please email any questions to Ms. Leger, head school counselor for NLRHS, at legerg@nlrsd.org
· NLR Center of Excellence will be pushing out a video and form next week and will host a time for questions through Google Meet. Please email any questions to Ms. Cox, school counselor for the Center of Excellence, at coxm@nlrsd.org
