District Parents and Caregivers,
As a result of inclement weather and the pending forecast for tomorrow, the North Little Rock School District will shift to remote learning for Thursday, February 24, 2022.
Although Thursday, February 24, 2022, will be 100% virtual instruction, students will be required to log in to Google Classroom for attendance to complete assignments and to collaborate with teachers. Students will also be required to log in to Google Meet to receive direct instruction from their teacher(s). All students will follow their school’s attendance plan students may have up to five days to complete assignments upon return to campus. being a part of the North Little Rock School District.


Due to inclement weather and out of an abundance of caution, the North Little Rock School District will close schools and district office sites this afternoon.
Pre-K and elementary students will be dismissed at 12:15 p.m. Middle schoolers will be dismissed at 1:05 p.m. High school students will be dismissed at 1:45 p.m. Central Office sites will be closing at 3:00 p.m.
In addition, there will no after-school activities or athletic events.
We will continue to monitor the weather’s impact on school and business operations and will keep you updated.

Parents, guardians and caregivers, at this time NLRMS 7/8 campus is still in session at this time. We will notify our parents if there are any changes or closures today.

CALS (Central Arkansas Library System) is offering free Math (and other subject) tutoring for all ages from 2:00pm-11:00 pm. Using ESSR funds, they are able to provide this service to kiddos.
This is a great resource to help those kids who are in after school tutoring and for those who are at home.
Parents will need to fill out google form first. It's helpful to watch the tutorial.

CALS free school tutoring
Brainfuse HelpNow provides on demand, anytime, anywhere eLearning for all ages and levels. HelpNow offers personalized homework help in core subjects (math, reading, writing, science and social studies) including SAT preparation. The Adult Learning Center is included in the HelpNow suite. Live tutors are available online from 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM each day for direct assistance. HelpNow will support the new Count UP math tutoring program but also offers learning assistance in other subjects.
With HelpNow, tutors and students communicate in real time in an online classroom by typing, drawing, and marking-up lessons and web content. Plus, students can use a secure file sharing feature in the writing lab to submit writing assignments to writing tutors any time of the day. The Brainfuse full-service test center offers practice tests for all levels in math, reading, and writing as well as college preparatory tests – including the SAT.

Tuesday, February 22, 2022, our campus will celebrate the number TWO so students that would like to participate can dress like twins with another student, they can wear "two" inspired/sounding items such as Tutus, toupee, tunics, two ties, two bows, two pair of socks, two shirts, two twin characters, the possibilities are endless. The NLRSD dress code will be enforced. This once-in-a-lifetime event won't happen TWICE so get 2 planning on how you will represent the # 2.

Dear Future 8th-Grade Parents and Students,
We greatly look forward to getting to work closely with many of you this coming year. Mr. Leverette, will be working with 7th-grade students next year, and Mrs. Williams,will be working with 8th-grade students next year. Our 2021-2022 course catalog can be viewed here, and the 2022-2023 course catalog will be published once it has been board-approved. All students will take English, mathematics, science, and social studies. Core teachers are making recommendations for initial placement for this coming school year as to whether each student should take regular or advanced core classes for this coming school year. All 8th-grade students will take a class period that rotates through 18 weeks of Career Development, 9 weeks of Art Appreciation, and 9 weeks of PE/Health. 8th-grade students will have room for up to two electives.Here is a list of 8th-grade elective classes (pending board approval). Beginning the week of Feb 21, 2022, students will input their preferences for electives as well as alternates to their top elective choice(s). A schedule verification form will be sent home the week after spring break. This form will display all of the classes planned for each student including elective and core classes. If any parent wishes to make changes in their child’s planned classes, please email the counselors to adjust the scheduled classes in eSchool.
