IHE Bobcat Staff

Dear Indian Hills Elementary Families,

Welcome back to the 2021-2022 school year! I hope you had a relaxing summer.  I am looking forward to working with you and your child(ren) again this year.  At IHE, we are committed to providing your child(ren) with rich learning experiences.  I believe in and take pride in always doing what is best for students. I will continue to use this guiding principle when making decisions about our school.

We welcome our IHE families back to school. We had a fabulous first day of school! There was a lot of positive energy in the air as the children connected with old friends and met new classmates and teachers. This year IHE began the year with over 400 students. We continue to have new families moving in, and we welcome these families to our school.

Your child is in good hands! It is easy to worry about your child being away from you all day and being watched by someone you barely know. But whether their teacher is fresh out of college or has taught for years, know that we do everything we can to ensure a safe, positive, and successful year for your child. It will require teamwork and cooperation to help make this happen and turn your child into a confident learner.

We will frequently post information on Facebook and ClassDojo to keep all parents informed of our activities and celebrations. Please accept the ClassDojo invitation from your child’s teacher as soon as possible.

If your child changes daily on getting home, make sure that the office or child’s teacher clearly understands the plan.  It is not good enough to inform your child about the plan.  IT MUST BE IN WRITING!

I look forward to getting to know our new students and families. It’s going to be a wonderful school year.  I am in the cafeteria most mornings and outside most afternoons, so please introduce yourself. I can also be reached by email: colemans@nlrsd.org or phone: 501-835-5622.

Dismissal Procedure (Please be patient as we work out the kinks.)

There are four options for how your child will get home: car rider, walker, bus, and daycare.

  1. Car riders will exit out of the front of the building and wait under the covered awnings. WE WILL HAVE 2 LANES OF CARS FOR PICK UP. Would you please post a sign with your child’s name and grade on the passenger side of your vehicle?
  2. Walkers will exit the building in 2 areas: 1) If students live on the Osage side, they will be dismissed by the gym. 2) If students live on the Kroger side, they will be dismissed by the art room and walked across the crosswalk by the crossing guard.
  3. Bus riders will meet in the cafeteria and have assigned bus tables.
  4. Daycare will be dismissed to the gym.
