The rescheduled girls' game between NLRHS and LR Southwest, set for tomorrow (1/15), has been postponed. The boys' game, however, is still on. This game will take place at 4:00 p.m. at LR Southwest. Another date for the girls' game will be rescheduled and communicated.

The North Little Rock School District continues to monitor the impact of COVID-19 in our schools. This is a reminder from our earlier communication that the Seventh & Eighth Grade Campus will continue remote instruction for Thursday, January 6, 2022, and Friday, January 7, 2022. Congratulations to Braxton Johnson, who earned the Class 7A Defensive Player of the Year award! This honor was presented to Johnson by Hooten's Football and Arkansas Farm Bureau. Johnson's mother and grandmother accepted the award on his behalf.

Josh Hunter, Bethany Sessions, and Joe Hofford, senior managers for the Charging Wildcat Football Team, each received a "Player of the Week" game ball for their contributions to the program. Their dedication to the team and coaches does not go unnoticed! You'll be missed!

We thank those individuals who have signed up to be mentors in our district. If you haven't signed up yet, we still need YOU! Check out these Mentor Orientation Sessions that have been planned. Also, please make plans to attend our "Calling All Dads and Male Role Models" session on Sunday, which will feature the founders of "Dads on Duty" from Shreveport, La. They first appeared on CBS Evening News. Come and hear how they have made a positive impact in schools. See you there!

NLR Cheer had a great competition in Hot Springs this weekend! Competing against all the top 6A teams in the state, NLR came out in top winning First Place overall and Grand Champs with the highest scoring routine of the day! One more competition this weekend in Bentonville, then off to state the following week. Fans are encouraged to support this dynamic team at state, which will be on December 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the Hot Springs Convention Center.

The semifinal matchup is set for Friday! The Charging Wildcats head to Bryant for a game that will determine who plays at War Memorial Stadium for the Class 7A Championship! Tickets are $6 and can be purchased at this link: https://gofan.co/app/events/468961?schoolId=AR4720
