Harrison

Mrs. Larissa Harrison, a veteran educator in the North Little Rock School District, will serve as the Assistant Principal at Seventh Street Elementary School next school year.  The North Little Rock Board of Education approved this appointment at its June Regular Board Meeting.

Mrs. Harrison previously served as Multi-Classroom Leader at Seventh Street Elementary School.  In this role, she has been involved in curriculum implementation and instructional coaching on the campus. Also in this role, she analyzed student data on standardized tests to determine the needs of the students.  Throughout her professional career – which has all been spent in the North Little Rock School District – she has taught third and fourth grades at Seventh Street Elementary School, Meadow Park Elementary School, and the former Pike View Elementary School.  Mrs. Harrison also taught art while at Meadow Park Elementary School.

Mrs. Harrison’s appointment comes at a critical moment in the history of Seventh Street Elementary School.  In an effort to reverse lagging achievement scores, the Board of Education approved the Superintendent’s recommendation to restructure the Pre-K through fifth grade campus.  This new, transformational approach will allow the campus to become an academic-themed community school for high-interest, project-based learning at each grade level.  Under the guidance of a Community Advisory Board (CAB), students will earn future-ready endorsements due to collaboration with industry and business experts, who will assist in providing hands-on learning opportunities.  Click on this link to learn more about this new concept for Seventh Street Elementary School

Mrs. Harrison earned a Master of Education Degree from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and a Bachelor of Science in Education Degree from Henderson State University.
