Bost

Mrs. Cortney Bost, who currently serves as Assistant Principal at Boone Park Elementary School, has been appointed Principal of Lakewood Elementary School, beginning the 2022-2023 school year.  The North Little Rock Board of Education approved the hire during a Special Board Meeting.

Mrs. Bost’s return to Lakewood is a homecoming of sorts.  She began her career in education at the school in August 2003, where she taught third and fourth grades.  During her time there, she worked with an after-school program and served on the school’s leadership team.  In August 2017, Mrs. Bost moved to North Little Rock Middle School.  While there, she taught seventh grade science and eventually became a Multi-Classroom Lead (MCL) Teacher in seventh grade social studies.  She worked with eight teachers in this role and provided them with innovative strategies to improve the teaching and learning process.  In August 2019, Mrs. Bost moved to Boone Park Elementary in her current role.

Mrs. Bost will succeed Mrs. Sara Logan, who will be retiring at the end of this school year.  Mrs. Logan has been at the helm at Lakewood since August 2007.

“My heart overflows with joy for this opportunity to return to Lakewood, where I spent fourteen years as a teacher,” said Mrs. Bost.  “I am excited about this opportunity and look forward to working with the students, staff, and community,” she added.

Mrs. Bost earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s Degree in Gifted Education, respectively, from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.  She received an Educational Specialist Degree in Leadership and Administration from Arkansas State University.

Mrs. Bost is married to her husband, Doug, who teaches at North Little Rock Middle School – Seventh & Eighth Grade Campus, and serves as the North Little Rock High School Boys Soccer Coach.  They have two children.
