The North Little Rock School District no longer provides mass athletic physicals. This step is being taken to align the district with best practice recommendations of the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American College of Sports Medicine. These organizations do not endorse mass sports physicals. It is recommended that sport physicals be incorporated into students' routine health screening/wellness visit for a variety of reasons that include ensuring privacy; having access to comprehensive medical records; and reserving time to discuss health, diet, immunizations, drug/alcohol use and mental health issues, such as anxiety and depression.

The North Little Rock School District agrees that the mass physical approach is not in the best interest of our student athletes. Student athletes must obtain physicals from their family physicians.
