Following an affirmative vote by the North Little Rock Board of Education, several new teachers and staff will be joining the North Little Rock School District for the 2021-2022 school year.  In addition, Ms. Mary Lee Dennis has been appointed as Director of Food Services and Mr. Tony Howard will serve as Assistant Principal at Seventh Street Elementary School.

Ms. Mary Lee Dennis
Ms. Dennis comes to the North Little Rock School District from the Child Nutrition Unit of the Arkansas Department of Education’s Division of Elementary and Secondary Education.  As the Food Service Management Company and Charter School Supervisor, Ms. Dennis worked with multiple districts and implemented new vendor contracts.  She has also advised various school districts on nutrition requirements.

Ms. Dennis earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Management from Parker University.  She also has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Family and Consumer Science/Dietetics from Henderson State University.

Mr. Tony Howard
Mr. Tony Howard will begin his role as an administrator in the North Little Rock School District as the Assistant Principal at Seventh Street Elementary School.

Most recently, Mr. Howard served as a History Teacher in the Pulaski County Special School District.  He began his career in the Little Rock School District as an English Language Arts Teacher and Technology Coordinator.  Mr. Howard has led parent and family engagement classes to provide them with information on how to best support their student’s academic and social success.  He has also developed clubs that target reading and behavior skills, which have led to an increase in student engagement and a decrease in student referrals.  

Mr. Howard has earned the following degrees and certifications:  Educational Specialist in Administration from Arkansas State University, Master of Arts in Education from Harding University (Concentration:  Excellence in Teaching), and Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education (Concentration:  Middle-Level English/Language Arts and Social Studies).
