NLRSD students

Beginning March 25 through May 1, the North Little Rock School District will allow parents who live outside of the North Little Rock school zone to register their children to attend school in the district for the 2019-2020 school year.  This is possible through The Public School Choice Act of 2015, which enables Arkansas students to attend a school outside of the zone in which they live.

Parents who are interested in enrolling their children into the North Little Rock School District must do so in person at Central Office, located at 2700 North Poplar Street.  In addition, parents must bring a utility bill or lease that bears their name.

The North Little Rock School District offers a comprehensive academic experience for each student.  Students who have been educated in North Little Rock schools have reached great heights in a wide range of professions, becoming civic and community leaders, scholars, legislators, educators, musicians, thespians, journalistsentrepreneurs, athletes, and much more.

“In our schools, every child matters.  It is our mission to see that every student reaches his or her full potential to become a leader in this global society,” said Bobby Acklin, Superintendent of the North Little Rock School District.

In addition to thorough instruction, the North Little Rock School District boasts of having a diverse student body, modern facilities, a competitive athletics program, a superior fine arts program, and strong community support.

The district has nine elementary schools, one middle school – which contains two campuses:  the Sixth Grade Campus and the Seventh and Eighth Grade Campus – one high school, one STEM-oriented public charter school (located within the high school), and an alternative learning center.

“We have the tools in place to ensure every student succeeds,” Acklin said.

During the week of March 25 through March 29 only, families who seek special permission to have their students transferred to another school in the district must provide documentation in person at Central Office.  That documentation must explain why special permission is necessary.  All applications will be reviewed, and parents will be notified in writing of the school assignment before school begins in August.
