Bobby J. Acklin became Superintendent of North Little Rock Schools in October 2018. He is excited to be here to make a positive impact on the lives of children.

Acklin has nearly 40 years of experience in education. His career began in the West Memphis School District, where he served as a coach and assistant principal. Acklin then relocated to Faulkner County, where he became a principal in the Conway School District.

In 1989, he joined the North Little Rock School District as Assistant Superintendent. It is here where he has spent the bulk of his professional career. After 24 years in this role, he was appointed by the Commissioner of the Arkansas Department of Education to serve as Superintendent of Dollarway School District. He later went on to become Superintendent of the Warren School District.

Acklin, a native of Mayflower, earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Hendrix College and a Master of Arts in Education from Arkansas State University.
