Public Records Announcement
Beginning June 1, 2018, the North Little Rock School District Special Services department will destroy special education records that are six (6) years old. According to State and Federal guidelines, special education records will be destroyed within six (6) years after the student leaves the program.
If your child was receiving special education services during the 2011-2012 school year, you have the right to review and request copies of these records before they are destroyed. Your child also has the right to review and request these records if he/she is eighteen (18) years of age or older.

THESE RECORDS ARE NOT PERMANENT SCHOOL RECORDS. THEY ARE ONLY SPECIAL EDUCATION DUE PROCESS FORMS AND EVALUATION DATA.
The Special Services Department of the North Little Rock School District provides a variety of services for students. The primary purpose of this department is special education services under the Individual with Disabilities Education Act, also known as IDEA.
In addition to IDEA compliance, Special Services also coordinates the dyslexia program, services for students who have been identified as Section 504 eligible and students who require homebound services.

Section 504 records are destroyed 5 years after the student graduates or withdraws from the district.
