BREAKFAST AND LUNCH!! NLRSD has partnered with Club Eco Kidz, a local nonprofit organization, and they will provide nutritious breakfast and lunch to our students starting tomorrow (3/23) until April 17! The organization will be at every elementary school, the middle school, the high school campus, and at the Academy. Breakfast will be served from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Lunch will be served from noon to 1:30 p.m. This will be grab and go. Enjoy!

NLR cheer wins first place at Lake Hamilton cheer competition last Saturday, beating Bryant and HarBer cheer in the 6A all girl division. NLRHS will participate in an ACT Online Study. This study will allow 250 juniors to take the December 14th ACT at no cost. Some students will take an online version of the exam and some will take the traditional paper version; students will not know which version until they arrive for testing and cannot choose which version. The results are valid for college admissions and scholarships. In order to take the test, a special voucher is required. If your would like your student to participate in this study, please direct them to complete the form titled: ACT Online Study: December 14 that was sent to their school email account.

The NLRHS EAST Initiative students have been working to re-establish the NLRHS Memorial Wall to remember and honor students who passed away while in high school. The previous memorial wall became inaccessible with the construction of the new high school. With the help of a school board grant, the students have been able to replace some of the memorial plaques; however, there are still some former students whose names are not on the wall. On November 19, UALR will be on campus from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. to assist with completing applications to their university. Perks of participating: 1. The application fee will be waived. 2. Student transcripts will be electronically sent at no cost. 3. An immediate decision on acceptance will be made. 4. Merit-based scholarships will be awarded. There will be a spirit bus to Shreveport for Friday's game against Catholic (Baton Rouge). The bus will cost $50.00 to ride, and this includes your game ticket. All riders must be an adult or must be accompanied by an adult. All riders are responsible for their own meals. The bus will leave at 2:00 p.m. Friday from the visitor's bus parking area of NLRHS Stadium. It will return after the game this Friday night. Those interested can purchase their tickets at the Athletic Office by the end of the day Thursday. Anyone that would like to pre-purchase tickets to the game can do so in the Athletic Office until the close of business on Thursday. Tickets here are $10.00, and tickets in Shreveport are $15.00.
