Homecoming/Spirit Week Themes Monday, October 1, 2018 through Friday, October 5, 2018:

Monday: Stoplight day - Students can wear red for taken, yellow for it’s complicated, and green for single to show their relationship status.

\r\n

Tuesday: Meme/Vine day - Students or groups of friends can dress as their favorite meme or vine.

\r\n

Wednesday: Jersey day - Students can wear their favorite team’s jersey or get a group of friends to dress as a team.

\r\n

Thursday: Salad Dressing day - Dress as your favorite salad dressing! For example, dress as a cowboy for ranch dressing, wear a toga for caesar dressing, etc.

\r\n

Friday: Spirit Day--Seniors dress in all blue, Juniors dress in all gold, Sophomores dress in all white, and Freshmen dress in all black.

\r\n

**REMEMBER, THE SCHOOL DRESS CODE IS STILL IN EFFECT ALL WEEK!!!**

Saturday, October 6, 2018:  Homecoming dance from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in the NLRHS cafeteria.  Students must arrive by 8:00 p.m. or they will not be allowed to enter the dance. Students must have a photo ID and Homecoming dance ticket to enter. Parking and drop off information details will be coming soon.

Volunteers are needed to help chaperone the dance, clean-up after the dance, and make drink donations for the dance. The times and descriptions for each shift are listed below:

  • Chaperone the dance Shift #1—6:45—8:30

    • Stay in the area that Student Council Co-Sponsors assign you to; make sure students are following all rules and staying in the designated area for the dance; working the drink and/or food stations

  • Chaperone the dance Shift #2—8:15—10:00

    • Stay in the area that Student Council Co-Sponsors assign you to; make sure students are following all rules and staying in the designated area for the dance; working the drink and/or food stations

  • Clean-up—10:00-11:00

    • Help pick up trash and take décor down and put back in Student Council closet

If you are unable to chaperone the dance or help with set-up or clean-up, we please ask that you make a donation of drinks for the Homecoming dance. Drinks can be dropped off from 7:00 a.m.—12:00 p.m. (noon) the morning of October 6, 2018 at the back door of Tower D. There will be a note on the back door that says something to the effect of "Drop drinks off here.”

  • 2-liter soda (Coke, Diet Coke, Dr. Pepper, Sprite, Mt. Dew, etc)

Homecoming Dance Ticket Sales Information

  • All students planning to attend the dance must complete a Homecoming registration form for themselves and their date (if they have one).  They have to fill the form out if they don't have a date; they have to fill out a form if their date goes to NLRHS; they have to fill out a form if their date attends a different school. No matter what, students attending the Homecoming dance must fill out a registration form. If two NLRHS students are attending the dance together, they do not have to fill out two forms. Forms are available now in the Guidance Office, in A222, in D208, or outside Ms. Whisnant's office (Tower C). Homecoming registration forms are due by October 2 to Ms. Taylor (D208), Ms. Rogers (A222). If students fail to turn a registration form in by October 2, they are not allowed to attend the dance.

  • All students must be debt-free to purchase tickets. Debts may be paid in the Guidance Office or in the Media Center before school, at lunch, and after school only.

  • Tickets will be sold before school and at lunch beginning September 26 and ending October 5 at 2:08 p.m. Tickets are $10 per student--cash only. Students must have their registration form turned in (by October 2) and must be debt free in order to purchase a ticket.

Homecoming Dress Code

\r\n
  1. Dresses should be no shorter than the length of a dollar bill held vertically from the top of the knee to the bottom of the hem.  This includes skirts/shorts underneath a sheer overlay and the shorter portion of a “hi-lo” gown. 

  2. Slits in gowns should be no higher than the length of a dollar bill held vertically from the top of the knee to the bottom of the slit.

  3. See through material, or a lack of material, which exposes excessive cleavage or breast is not allowed.

  4. Strapless dresses are permitted as long as an excessive amount of cleavage/breast is not exposed.

  5. Two-piece dresses are permitted if they meet the following guidelines:  No belly buttons may be visible; no more than 2 inches between the bottom of the top and the top of the bottom.

  6. Open back dresses should dip no lower than the waistline.

  7. See through fabric dresses or panels on dresses with strategically placed decorations/fabric are not allowed.

  8. Cutouts that wrap around to the front of the dress should also follow the 2 inch guideline.

Homecoming is a semi-formal affair, and as such, jeans, shorts, baseball caps and sagging are not allowed.  Dress pants and a tie are appropriate while a jacket is optional. Additionally, gentlemen, if your date does not attend NLRHS, it is your responsibility to inform them of the dress guidelines.

\r\n

Any student deemed inappropriately dressed will be asked to change clothes.
